Omkar Spiritual Tours
Come and have a deep and genuine experience of spiritual India! Omkar Tours is an organization connected with Mata Anandamayi Ashram in Indore and Omkareshwar. All the proceeds from the tours go to fund the free school in the Omkareshwar Ashram for the local village children. Omkar Tours is operated by devotees of the ashram and aims at giving visitors an authentic experience of the deep spirituality inherent in the holy places and people of India.
Each six-day tour includes visits to famous temples, meetings with local saints and devotees, and classes in meditation and yoga.
Each participant in the tour should arrange their own international flight to Mumbai, but from there we will arrange the flight to Indore and meet you at the airport. Transportation will be provided for your journey to nearby Omkareshwar, which is an ancient Shiva pilgrimage shrine on the banks of the holy Narmada River. You will stay in Mata Anandamayi Ashram and have all meals and accommodation provided, including bottled drinking water. Here you can experience the daily life of an Indian ashram and have classes in yoga and meditation. You will be taken on a boat tour down the Naramada seeing the different small ashrams and sadhus living there. You will walk the pilgrim’s trail around the island, meeting the local saints and sadhus. There will also be a trip to nearby Maheshwar, visiting the palace of the Saint-Queen Ahilya Bai of ancient times, and later to the pilgrimage town of Ujjain where the Kumbha Mela is held every twelve years.
